These are some of the cutest kids around, and when we had them on a field with a bubble machine for a surprise for their grandparents, some great things were bound to happen. ;)

Jason and Tiffany: Napa Engagement
Two years ago, I studied in Israel for 4 months with 40 or so of my fellow students from The Master's College. In the room to the right of mine lived two girls, and one of them was Tiffany. I didn't get to know her very well there, but the next fall, as I hung out with a girlfriend from church who had come down and incidentally also now lived next to Tiffany, I got to know her a little better. I started riding to church with a guy named Jason who i'd known since high school from my church, and as one thing led to another, Tiffany started riding with us, and sooner or later, on one of our pre-church starbucks stops, Jason told me they were dating. :)
Now they are engaged, and it's so neat to see where God has brought them!
Congratulations guys!

The Tran Family
I have a three and a half hour break between classes 2 days a week which I generally fill with a visit either to the closest library to the school or sitting at Barnes and Noble the whole time poring over novels, photography books, wedding magazines or something of the kind. One day at the beginning of this semester I decided to go to the library and I ran in to Margaret and her kids who and she graciously invited me back to her house for lunch and we had a great time talking about her kids, my photography, and just our lives in general.
We've repeated these lunch dates a few times since then and they are always very encouraging and fun.
I took pictures of their family at a little lake behind the library where we first connected that day, and here they are!

Seth: Senior Session
I'm the oldest of eight children, and when I graduated from High School a few years ago, my mom was just starting to take a lot of pictures and instead of paying an arm and a leg for studio photos, we decided to go out and do a shoot, and use one of the pictures for my senior picture.
Three years later my little brother, the second in the lineup, is graduating, and it was my privilege to do a senior session with him. He's great, loves the Lord, loves his friends, loves our family, is the 4 year old brother's favorite person ever, is a lifeguard, leads worship at a bible study, and can be pretty crazy, and we love him for all that.
It's going to be cool to see what God is going to do with him in the next few years.

Hannah + Surprise = awesome
A couple weeks back my friend Hannah had a birthday, and her mom wanted to organize a surprise brunch for her, inviting some women who have been in her life to meet and share with her something God's taught us. In order to have it be a surprise, I told her that I really wanted to do a birthday photoshoot with her and that I've been dying to do an early morning shoot (which was true). So I picked her up at 7:20, and we went and shot for about an hour, and then we decided to go to Mimi's Cafe, which we'd done before, so she wasn't suspecting anything. And we walked to the back of the restaurant and there were all the women! It was great fellowshipping with everyone and talking!
We finished our brunch and all the ladies headed back home, and because Hannah's family was planning a surprise PARTAY that night and my job was to keep her distracted that afternoon, we went to one of our favorite stores, Barnes and Noble, and then we went to 2 different thrift stores looking for some costume stuff that we were planning to use in a shoot for a class that Hannah modeled for me in. While we were at the thrift store we found this awesome vintage section with some really awesome dresses and some cool random odds and ends.
The party was great and she was totally! (ok kinda-sorta) surprised!
And here's a digital preview of the shoot for my project! The actual shoot was all Black and White Film.
