Kyle: Senior

There are brothers and sisters that are born into your family, and then there are those that kind of get adopted as the years go by. I have a lot of the former, 3 sisters and 4 brothers to be exact, but Kyle is one of the adopted ones. :D

He is very musically talented, check out his youtube here and a song i filmed him doing at our summer camp here. We incorporated his guitar and his Uke into our shoot and thanks to Kyle's great sense of style and innate sense of model-ness, we got some awesome pics!

Hey Kyle, you're awful! ;)

Kimberly and Edwin's Honduras Wedding

We were very little when we met, I think I was 7 and Kimberly was 5. Our families got together for dinner and we pretended to cut our little siblings hair with plastic scissors from a Fisher Price Doctor's Costume set. For many years our families would get together and we would make up plays and watch the Sound of Music and coerce our younger brothers and sisters into ridiculous roles in whatever game we were playing. We both had swing sets and in the many hours we played, the swing sets became houses, dungeons, covered wagons, ships, etc. Anything our imagination necessitated.

(Kimberly and I are the two girls on the right)

After several years Kimberly's family moved to Honduras and when i was 14 I went with my dad as he taught a class at their Pastoral Training Center. That was the first time I met Edwin, and in the years since I watched from thousands of miles away and occasionally through their visits to the states as they became good friends, then good friends that everyone knew had that something special, and then a couple, until finally last year Edwin asked Kimberly to marry him!

I thought often how much I wished I could shoot their wedding, but I didn't think it would actually happen until one day Kimberly called me from Honduras to ask if I would be her photographer. Of course, I said yes, and  before I knew it I was on a plane to Honduras for the second time to document my friend's special day.

A funny moment from the day was when I asked Kimberly's 3 year old sister Abby "What's happening today?" and she said "Kimberly's changing her hair." And then i said "Is she getting married?" and she got a big smile on her face and said "YES! With Chino!" (Edwin's nickname) Then i said "Chino's going to be your brother!" and she looked and me with a confused look on her face and said "What??" and i repeated myself and she looked at me and smiled and said in a you must be joking tone "No."

It was a wonderful trip, a beautiful wedding, and I can't wait to visit Honduras again!

Thanks to my awesome second shooter Caleb for helping me out!
