Monterey

Thursday was a day off of school at my college and since my family and boyfriend had spring break we all went down to Monterey and hit up the aquarium, 17 mile drive and several beaches. The weather has been beautiful, and though the beaches often are cold and cloudy, that day it was warm and sunny and just altogether lovely. It was the perfect relaxing day, complete with a lot of hilarious quotes from my family and awesome moments.
-Caleb (the 5 year old) ran between John and I and pushed us apart and yelled "HEARTBROKEN!"
-Everyone climbed on the huge rocks at the beach and John posed for a picture and got totally splashed.
-In the car on the way home Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" came on and i heard from the back of our 15 passenger van "SOMEONE START A MOSH PIT!"

Here are the memories captured. :)

A Tuesday Post

I'm sitting here waiting for a class to start looking at the poster that i designed up on the board awaiting critique. I'm also watching Dancing with the Stars.
Last week I went around campus asking people if i could take their picture, taking a smiling picture and then a goofy one, and compiled it all together into this poster.

Adam: Senior

Last year, about this time, I was shooting my oldest little brother's senior pictures. This year it is my brother Adam's turn to graduate and move on into the next stage of life. (There are 8 children in my family, in case you were wondering ;) but the next one won't be taking senior pics for a couple years) I'm thankful for the guy that God is turning you into, Adam. I pray that God blesses your endeavours in the coming years and that you daily grow into the man after His heart that he wants you to be.

I love you, little guy. :)

Beauty

is often found when the light streams perfectly in through the curtain diffused window, and envelopes the sunset-hued tulips that nod in the vase.

Night Photography

This week's photo class assignment is to do some night photography, so i packed my tripod, my camera, my flash, and enlisted my awesome and good looking boyfriend to come along and model for me. :D

I love the abandoned feel of Mare Island, where I shoot a lot, and all the crazy colours and backgrounds that are found there.
