The Williams Family

Nicole called me and said "Hey! We are only in town for one day, but if you are available we'd love to do a photoshoot with you!" I was very excited, because the place they headed back to the morning after our shoot was India, where they are missionaries. We went out and i got to meet their kids, who were ADORABLE, and enjoy talking to Nicole in between shots.
I've always wanted to go to India. When i was 8 i read a biography of Amy Carmichael and decided that I was going to be a missionary to India when i grew up. So far God has had different plans for me, though I'm quite open to that if he brings the opportunity one of these days. Hopefully I'll at least get to make a trip out there with my camera in tow in the not too far distant future. ;)

This was my first official shoot in RAW format and I love the way it turned out.

Nicole specifically wanted some "school pictures" for the two older ones, so I did my best to oblige. ;)

The Stuart Family

The Stuarts are such an awesome and hilarious family, on our shoot there was lots of laughter, play fighting, and joking around, and it was so fun being with them! Kimberli is away in LA for school right now, and I miss our drives and coffee dates, but it's nice to be able to see her face on my computer screen until she comes back. :)

Their dad is a firefighter with the Napa FD, so we made a stop at the fire house to get some shots with the engines. :)

Writebols

This beautiful family drove an hour for their photosession with their little Ethan and Allie. :) It was a lovely cool morning, one of the first with the promise of spring. We took a few pictures in my front room with the wonderful light that comes through the huge window there (entertaining Allie with a stuffed frog) and then headed out to one of my favorite portrait settings.

Makayla: Newborn

There's something so amazing about a little person so new to the world. Makayla got a family that loves her so much, a bass playing daddy whose has developed a special voice just for talking to his baby girl, a mommy who, along with daddy, marvels at and wants to document every time she curls her little toes up.

We're very glad she's here.

Why yes, this IS what happens when Daddy plays the bass.

Matt and Mary Joy are married!

Beckie and I got to the house where MJ was getting ready and were greeted with the sounds of a lot of girls laughing and enjoying getting ready for their friend's wedding. The happiness at that house carried all through the day as MJ and Matt committed themselves to each other forever. Some of my favorite moments were seeing Matt, who i've known since 9th grade holding MJ's son Jaden during the reception, hearing the hilarious toasts, getting in some dancing at the end to celebrate my friends' marriage, and all the God glorifying joy that characterized this whole wedding.
