Engagement previews

The busyness of the end of a year is swirling all around me, in the last 2 weeks I have shot things for class, 6 families, 2 engagement shoots, and some random things for school. My life is extremely crowded with people that I love, with past-times that I enjoy, with math tests that I don't enjoy quite so much, preparing for a trip to Burma/Myanmar at the end of the month, preparing for a move to the other side of the country in a couple months, and the overwhelming theme of the mercy and grace of Jesus that flows through all these things and gives a reason for living.

I'll have some shoots to blog soon, I'm still in the thick of editing, but enjoy these previews from Kyle and Sara's shoot and Arnel and Mindy's.

Dacy and Tyrel's Wedding: Preview

Yesterday was a day almost like any other...I woke up, showered, went to school, however, unlike other days, Dacy and Tyrel committed themselves to each other forever, and gathered their friends and families together to celebrate.

In the swiftly fading fall light after the ceremony, Dacy and Tyrel took a few moments to be together before getting the party started with everyone who had gathered, and that little bit of joyful peace was amazing.

Have a great time in Hawaii together, and enjoy this preview!

Sneaky Peek.

Today I woke up early, picked out a rockin shooting outfit, got my gear together and drove off an hour and a half to shoot some people. ;)
It was a great day, beautiful venue, beautiful people, beautiful light, and tons of fun. :D

Here are a couple pictures from the day so you aren't left completely lacking in being involved in how awesome it was. ;)

This time last year I was doing the same exact thing, I had just gotten home from a day of shooting a wedding and was exhausted and debating just how much packing for tomorrow's departure to summer camp was really necessary.

As I go off to a week of fun, hearing the word of God preached, and awesome times with awesome people, I'd like to leave you with a quote from John Piper that I read today.

‎"Self is simply too small to satisfy the exploding longings of my heart. I wanted to taste and see something great and wonderful and beautiful and eternal." - Piper

This is from an article I read today where he was talking about growing up. Read it if you have the chance, it was lovely.
The gist of the post however is how great of a thing we are offered, just to look beyond ourselves and behold the wonders of God and the salvation through which He offers redemption.

It's truly great and wonderful and beautiful and eternal.

I will leave you with 2 pictures from today's wedding. :)
