Adam and Ashley are Married!

Ashley was the girl at school who you could walk across campus with, and no matter who you saw as you walked, Ashley would know them and say hello with a smile or a hug. I got to know her when a mutual friend created a game with puzzles and ciphers and clues hidden all over campus and picked a certain group of students to participate without telling us who was behind the whole thing. Ashley and I worked long and hard on deciphering some of the clues and got close, and I was really sad when i found out she was going to study in Israel the next semester. So with less than a month to go before the group would be leaving, Ashley and I schemed up a plan and managed to get me in to go with them. Through that whole semester (which is when i really started taking pictures, so in a way she's responsible for me being a photographer) Ashley was a great encouragement to me and helped me grow through my struggles and my hard times and always pointed me to Christ.
We went back to school and though we didn't hang out that much she was always the one I could get a hug from if i needed it, and when i found out she was dating i was excited for her, and even so much more excited when she got engaged and she asked me to shoot her wedding in beautiful upstate New York!

So Ashley, thanks for always being a faithful friend and sister, and Adam is an awesome guy, I'm so glad I got to meet him and be at your wedding. Love you!

Lovely Familyness

In high school I used to babysit the Thompson's older two kids a lot, and when the third was born i watched him a few times as well before I went off to college. The family has been through a lot in the 3 years i've been out of high school, but they have always been an amazing testimony of trust in the Lord and of how He provides.

When we were heading back to the car to leave Ava grabbed my hand and started talking to me about pictures and my new haircut and other such things and then she said "Look at that bench! We should have taken pictures on that!" So, since she's apparently got a great eye for location i took a few pictures of her on the bench. :)

Julian and Michelle's Sneak Peek among other things

Dear world. This is the "end" of a very very busy week full of photoshoots, designing nametage and manual covers and many other things for our youth group summer camp that is coming up, sleepovers, movie watching (Inception is amazing), editing, wedding shoot coordination, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and trying to fathom the fact that we're leaving in the morning with the youth ministry for this camp, and remembering that i have to pack...:P And that this next week will most likely be far more sleep-depriving and exhausting than this week has been and will give me many moments of "What were you thinking Saturday night when you stayed up and blogged when you could have been sleeping???" And I will answer, "This is life the way i love to live it, always going, always having fun, full of fellowship and late nights and lots of dancing, and made complete by the love of Christ, my friends and family, and brides and grooms who look stunning against the bokeh from my 50 mm lens."
